This outage was caused by a disruption to our DNS hosting provider that caused web requests to any of our websites or API's to fail with an error. We apologise for this outage. After an internal review we will implement a strategy to mitigate this issue in future. - FUTURE MITIGATION - While this was an unprecedented event that impacted a large number of websites on the internet, we want to ensure this does not occur again in the future. We have identified the root cause of the problem being our reliance on a single DNS provider. In the coming weeks we will roll out an update to our DNS servers so there is no longer a single point of failure. We will update this report once these steps have been completed. - NOTES - Please note that our uptime monitor provider also had DNS issues during this time which is why our status page stated that there were no problems. - CONCLUSION - At situ we pride ourselves on achieving as close to 100% uptime as possible. We also strive to be as transparent as possible when problems do occur. We have set up a working group within the company to reduce the chance of this specific problem occurring again and we will also perform a review of our systems to reduce any single points of failure where possible. situ Product outage https://status.situsystems.com/incident/96828 Tue, 21 Jun 2022 09:00:00 -0000 https://status.situsystems.com/incident/96828#e0362b1ad63b186b8a8cf8f184b8f805df9926e5398490474bbab1ceb6ac57c3 - OVERVIEW - On 21st June 2022 the entire product suite of situ products had an outage of up to 60 minutes.
